Aidan Christensen
STUDENT PROFILE
Aidan Christensen is a sophomore horn student born and raised in Acworth GA..
Before his time at Eastman, Aidan studied under Jay Hanselman and Jaclyn Rainey (then principal horn at the Atlanta Symphony and Eastman Alumni). He now studies under W. Peter Kurau in the Eastman Horn Studio. At Eastman, Aidan has participated in a variety of chamber and large ensembles, including brass and wood quintet and horn quartet, as well as studying organ as a secondary instrument.
Aidan also has an interest in historical performance practice, and has taken advantage of the Valenza collection housed at the Eastman school to host a series of period recitals, each with a focus on different regions and time periods important to the development of the horn we know today.
Though he started time at Eastman in 2022, Aidan spent 2023 – 2025 as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Bangkok Thailand, where he served part of his time as the mission Music Leader. This was a transformative experience, providing him with cultural and spiritual insight that has changed his life both as a horn player and a person.
Outside of his studies, Aidan enjoys powerlifting, photography, and arranging/ multitrack recording music for horn ensemble.
