STUDENT PROFILE
Estel has been Awarded a Graduate Award scholarship at the age of 20 to pursue her Master’s Degree at Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester, New York.
At the age of 16, awarded a full tuition 4-year scholarship (18.000€) from the Ferrer-Salat Music Foundation to pursue her Bachelor´s Degree at the Liceu Conservatory of Barcelona to study with Professor Albert Julià Torné.
Estel’s talent has been recognized on multiple occasions. In 2022, she won First Prize in the Les Corts International Music Competition, Juventudes Musicales de Ávila, XIV National Music Competition de Cambra, 26th Josep Mirabent i Magrans Competition, and received the Second Prize at the 1st Liceu Sax Festival Competition. In the same year, she was a Finalist in the Juventudes Musicales de España in both the soloist and chamber music divisions.
Estel has been interviewed several times on Ràdio Terrassa in the program El Submarí, in Diari de Terrassa, and in Gaseta de Matadepera. With Delia Quartet, several concerts have been broadcast in different television channels such as Catalan Television (TV3), Andorra Television, and Segarra TV. Apart from that, they have been interviewed twice in Catalunya Ràdio in the program Assaig General as well as on the National Spanish Radio program “Andante con moto,” and in SaxRules, the Saxophone Digital Magazine.
She has been a guest artist with Delia Quartet at festivals such as FISP Palmela International Saxophone Festival (Portugal), CiMa International Music Festival (Colombia), the 10th “Cervera Easter Festival,” and the IV Liceu Sax Festival (Barcelona). Estel has had the honor of performing on numerous stages in Catalonia and Spain as well as around the world in countries such as: Portugal (Palmela), Germany (Cologne and Aachen), and the USA (NYC and Rochester).
Estel´s interest in newly created music has led her to premiere and record works by young composers. In 2021, the composer Arodi Martínez dedicated Alborada Mexicana for sax and piano to her, and he is currently in the process of composing a second contemporary piece for solo sax which will also be dedicated to Estel.
At 19 years old, Estel became the official conductor of the Matadepera Wind Orchestra. In this role, she was responsible for planning the program’s repertoire and rehearsal schedule. After leading the orchestra for two years, Estel moved to Rochester, NY (USA) to pursue her Master’s Degree at Eastman School of Music.
