The University of Rochester requires all students, faculty and staff have an up-to-date UR Smart ID Card. These cards include a smartcard chip that is encrypted to provide additional security and the ability to use touchless access devices on campus. Student ID cards are issued during orientation or upon beginning their program with Eastman School of Music. Faculty and staff will be provided with an ID card upon hire.
All University IDs should be reported and replaced if lost, stolen, or damaged. The replacement cost for a lost ID is $25.00. If an ID card is broken or inoperable, that ID must be turned in to have the replacement fee waived.
Faculty, staff, and ECMS students may request a new ID badge at the Eastman Community Music School office. The ECMS office is open M-F, 9:00am-6:00 p.m. and Saturdays during the school year from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Undergraduate and graduate students should request a new ID badge using the University ID Service Request form available at the Eastman Student Living Center (SLC) front desk. Once turned in at the SLC front desk, requests are completed by the Office of Student Affairs within 2 business days. The Office of Student Affairs is open Monday through Friday, 8:30am until 5:00pm.
Faculty and staff may also use the request form or may email Rachel Taylor (rtaylor@esm.rochester.edu) in the Office of Student Affairs to schedule an appointment.
PLEASE NOTE: Your University ID card is also your library card for all University of Rochester libraries.
