ECMS invites everyone to attend a Celebration of Life event including performance by faculty and students to celebrate Harriet’s life and legacy on Saturday, March 21, at 11:30 a.m. in Howard Hanson Hall.

Harriet Zimmerman ’67E, ’75E (MM), began playing the piano at age three and earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in piano performance from Eastman, where she studied with Cécile Genhart and Maria Faini. For nearly 50 years, she taught in the ECMS piano department, sharing her experience, rigor, and love of music with generations of students. She was named a Jack L. Frank Instructor, and, in 1986, became the second faculty member to receive the Frank Award for Excellence in Teaching.

Zimmerman retired from teaching in May 2023.
