Born in Hong Kong, Yu Ching Timothy Lam is a sophomore saxophonist at the Eastman School of Music, currently studying under Professor Chien-Kwan Lin. Throughout his ongoing education, he has attended lessons by Taimur Sullivan, Otis Murphy, Kenneth Tse, Makoto Hondo, and other renowned artists.

Lam’s participation in musical events span from local performances to international competitions, including the 2023 HKMSF Virtuoso Scholarship for Wind, Brass and Percussion Instruments and the 2023 Asia Pacific Saxophone Competition. Apart from solo playing, he also takes pride in performing in numerous renowned ensembles, including the Eastman Wind Ensemble and the Eastman Saxophone Project.
