Position Announcement:
Artist/Teacher of Tuba and Euphonium
The Eastman School of Music of the University of Rochester invites applications for a tenure-eligible (full-time) Artist/Teacher of Tuba-Euphonium, beginning on 1 July 2023. Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience. Candidates must have an established career as a performing artist in addition to successful recruiting and teaching of outstanding students in a conservatory or university music school.
Primary responsibilities include teaching applied-music majors (undergraduate and graduate) in tuba and in euphonium. Secondary responsibilities will include directing Tuba Mirum (Eastman’s tuba-euphonium ensemble); other instructional duties, such as teaching the lower-brass repertoire class and coaching chamber ensembles, will be based on the interests of the candidate and the needs of the school. Candidates will also be expected to participate fully in the life of the institution by participating on committees, recruiting, and taking part in auditions and juries.
