Organ, Historical Keyboards and Sacred Music
Camden Hulsey
Camden Hulsey is a 1st year undergraduate in the studio of David Higgs pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Applied Music in Organ Performance at The Eastman School of Music in Rochester New York. Camden began his organ journey at the age of 15 when his former piano teacher, and Eastman alumni, brought up learning the organ in a lesson, and from there on the organ has been the main focus of Camden’s life. Not long after, Camden would become the assistant organist of Sacred Heart Cathedral of The Diocese of Rochester, and is still working there today. Camden enjoys improvising in the various modes of Olivier Messiaen, and is hoping to learn more during his time at Eastman. Along with his interest in Olivier Messiaen, Camden appreciates Gregorian Chants, and organum style medieval style music. In the time that Camden is not practicing the organ, he enjoys astrophotography and large machine engine repair.
