STUDENT PROFILE
Samantha Webber is a 4th year PhD student. She has a bachelor’s degree in music education and flute performance and a Master of Arts in teaching from Christopher Newport University. She also has a Master of Arts in music education from Case Western Reserve University.
Sam has four years of full-time experience teaching K–5 general music and six years of experience teaching preschool and early childhood general music. Sam’s research interests include music learning in early childhood, equity in early childhood and elementary general music education, and children’s perspectives on music learning. Sam chose Eastman “after reading numerous research and practitioner articles from current faculty. I was excited to learn from rigorous and dedicated scholars.” A fun fact about Sam: “My guilty pleasures are soap operas and telenovelas.”
