ADMISSIONS
Benjamin joins the Eastman Admission team from the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music, where he worked in the Admission and Student Affairs Office while completing his MM in Bassoon Performance. He earned his BM in Bassoon Performance and a BS in Biomolecular Sciences from the University of Michigan, where he also worked in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. In 2023, he served as an Admission Intern at the Interlochen Center for the Arts.
As an active bassoonist, Benjamin has performed with Jazz at Lincoln Center (including in a televised recording of Wynton Marsalis’ Symphony No 1: All Rise), the Pacific Symphony, Santa Monica Symphony, and Jackson Symphony Orchestras. He has attended both the Sarasota Music Festival as a fellow and the Chautauqua Institution. Outside of work, Benjamin enjoys going to the movies, solving puzzles, and exploring local coffee shops.
Benjamin is the designated Admissions Counselor for Woodwinds, Brass & Percussion and Jazz Studies applicants.
