Tune in TOMORROW (9/22) as doctoral composition student Cory Brodack takes us through his day as a third-year Ph.D. student and teaching assistant for the Electroacoustic Music Studios @ Eastman (EMuSE, formerly EARS). Please join Cory and his classmates for the first EMuSE concert this Saturday 9/23 at 7:30 PM in Hatch Recital Hall, featuring Howard Hanson Visiting Professor João Pedro Oliveira and directed by Mikel Kuehn!

If you’re curious about the kind of project that an EMuSE student might work on, Cory shares that he is in the throes of developing and using Javascript to create mobile web apps that will allow increased accessibility in audience and performer involvement at electronic music performances. In his words, “this means you don't need a nice speaker system to play electronic music, because we all have our speakers and computers in our pockets!”

Conductor Mark Scatterday says, “Please join us for what promises to be a remarkable event and the beginning of a new era of trumpet performance and education at the Eastman School of Music.”

EVENT POSTPONED: The Cliburn & IMG Artists, representatives of Yunchan Lim, have announced the truly unfortunate news that Lim’s September 2023 recitals in the United States are being postponed due to personal reasons. THIS SUNDAY’S CONCERT IS RESCHEDULED FOR NOVEMBER 3, 2024.

Lim states: “I am heartbroken to disappoint the people who were planning to attend the performances. I am sorry to disappoint people who were looking forward to hearing this music. I look forward to being able to perform for you soon. Thank you again for your support and understanding.”

Eastman shares in this disappointment and appreciates the cooperation of our valued patrons as we work to accommodate this change.
