Student and Teacher Preparation for Back to School!

In this video blog, I discuss how both students AND teachers must prepare for the first day of classes.

Special guest Alex Lapins! We talk performance prep!

Only Practicing Before This Next Audition

Hi Everyone! I am at my parents house in California, and am ONLY practicing before the next harp audition. No teaching. No gigs. It’s the total opposite of how I prepared for the last audition I took. Will it work? I hope so!

What to do over summer break?!

What to do over summer break?! While relaxing is great, I am not a “sit still” kind of person. So, in this VLOG I discuss what I have been up to!

47 Strings- Programming for 4-year olds

47 Strings was recently awarded the Richter Fund for Musical Outreach from the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University. This grant will fund six performances at Houston Homeless Shelters this Spring. See how Meghan programs a concert for homeless preschoolers, as well as rehearsal time with bassist David Connor.

What do I do when I’m not practicing? Vlog #9

Lots of time is spent in the practice room. But not all of it is practicing or recording. Things like teaching, driving, organizing music, and instrument repairs are all necessary parts of being a freelance musician.

47 Strings- Educational and Innovative Harp Outreach

Have you heard about Meghan’s outreach project “47 Strings”? She’s performing one concert for each string on the harp. Find out how she’s bringing classical music into the Houston community through this concert series, and check out video from some of the performances and behind the scenes footage. You can also check out meghancaulkett.com/47Strings or facebook.com/47strings for more information!

This is a song, “The Ever Evolving Etude” written by Avishai Cohen. As you can see, I’m a big fan of his music, and this is the 3rd of his songs that I’ve arranged for my band – KMANG KMANG. This is the just the solo version, me playing by myself in my apartment, but we’ll be doing the full band arrangement at our CD release show! It’s going to be epic!
