Apply to be an Usher

The Eastman Usher Crew typically hires new Ushers twice each year – once in early fall (August/September) for the academic year, and once in spring (March/April) for the summer season. The number of openings available each year depends on many factors, such as the number of crew members graduating each year and the concert season’s programming.
Ushering positions are open to all UR students from all campuses and schools, including graduate and international students. Federal Work Study is preferred, but not required.

Requirements:

• Must be enrolled as a student at the University of Rochester
• Must have strong customer service skills
• Must be able to work in a team and take direction well
• Physical Requirements:
• Standing for up to 90 minutes at a time
• Climbing stairs
• Lifting up to 40 pounds
• Pushing/pulling heavy equipment

Preferences:

• Enrolled at the Eastman School of Music
• Federal Work Study
• Customer service experience
• Music or theatre experience (performance or stage/theatre labor)
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills
• Ability to anticipate needs and work independently where needed
