Submission Guidelines

Intégral invites articles on a broad range of musical topics, including theory, analysis, and criticism. We pursue an implicit mandate to explore and exploit the increasing pluralism of the music-theoretic field. We are currently accepting submissions for Volume 32.

Submissions should be e-mailed to the co-editors at The text of the e-mail should include the title as well as the author’s name and contact information. The article text should not reveal the identity of the author and should be sent as a .doc, .docx, and/or .pdf file. Musical examples should be submitted in a single, separate .pdf for review, though authors of articles accepted for publication will be required to submit each figure as a separate picture file (.tif, .jpg, .png, or .eps) of minimum 300ppi. Setting the examples in a notation software program and securing permissions to reproduce copyrighted material are the author’s responsibility. Style and citations should follow the 16th edition of The Chicago Manual of Style. Either the notes-bibliography style described in Ch. 14 or the author-date style outlined in Ch. 15 is acceptable. However, authors choosing the author-date style should use footnotes rather than in-text parenthetical citations. Intégral retains copyright of published articles.

See Intégral’s style sheet for guidance.
