Transcript Information
In order to meet federal guidelines, the Admissions office must have final official high school transcripts (for incoming undergraduate students) OR final official transcripts for all prior degrees (for incoming graduate students) on file for all students. Dual Degree students must send transcripts to both Eastman and the University of Rochester.

Final official transcripts must meet the following requirements:

  • Must include your graduation date
  • Must be sent to the Eastman Office of Admissions directly by your school (either in hard copy or using a secure electronic format) or come to us in an envelope that was officially sealed by your school.

Please have the transcript sent to:

Office of Admissions

Eastman School of Music,

26 Gibbs Street,

Rochester, NY 14604

For electronic transcripts: admissions@esm.rochester.edu

You may not be allowed to register for fall classes if your final, official transcript has not been received by Orientation. Contact the Office of Admissions directly at 585.274.1060 for any questions regarding this requirement.

Required Online Training
During the first week of August, the University’s Title IX Coordinator will be sending each of you instructions regarding how to complete an online course. This course provides information about the University’s expectations, policies, and resources related to sexual harassment. You will be sent a link via your student email once the course goes live. It should take approximately 30 minutes to complete and is a required component of your New Student Orientation process. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Morgan Levy, University Title IX Coordinator at morgan.levy@rochester.edu or 585.275.7814.

Required Online Document Approval
All new students are required to read and indicate approval of four documents before they are allowed to register for classes in the Fall semester. To review and approve these documents, please visit esm.rochester.edu/newstudentdocs/ before you arrive on campus.

Take a Stand
For many years, the equipment in the practice rooms at Eastman has included a music stand. Sometimes, when you are in a hurry to find a practice room, you may find the music stand has wandered to another location. We recommend that everyone bring with them a portable (foldable) music stand, one that you can carry in your backpack or instrument case so that you are ready to practice at any time, without the need to spend extra practice time searching for a music stand.

You can purchase a music stand at the Eastman School Bookstore. If you want to reserve a music stand for purchase when you arrive on campus, call Tammy in the Eastman Bookstore at 585.274.1399 or email the bookstore at bksrochestereastman@bncollege.com. You can “take a stand” and pay for it in the Miller Center building during regular store hours.
