Transcript Information
In order to meet federal guidelines, the Admissions Office must have your final official high school transcript. Please make sure your high school has sent your final official transcript to the Admissions Office, Eastman School of Music, 26 Gibbs Street, Rochester, NY 14604.  Financial aid will be rescinded if the transcript is not received. Contact Admissions directly at 585.274.1060 for more information or questions regarding this requirement.

Required Online Training
During the first week of August, the University’s Title IX Coordinator will be sending each of you instructions regarding how to complete an online course called Haven. This course provides information about the University’s expectations, policies, and resources related to sexual harassment. You will be sent a link via your student email once the course goes live on August 1st. It should take approximately 30 minutes to complete and is a required component of your New Student Orientation process. Required Online Document Approval
All new students are required to read and indicate approval of four documents before they are allowed to register for classes in the Fall semester. To review and approve these documents, please visit esm.rochester.edu/newstudentdocs/ before Friday, July 29th.

Concert Dress
Appropriate concert for women in instrumental ensembles dress will be black ankle-length dress with long sleeves and round necklines, or black skirt or dress slacks with long-sleeved blouse or shirt (black) with round neckline. Black stockings and black dress shoes are also required. Please avoid open-toed shoes.

All new choral women in choral ensembles—including all members of the Eastman/UR Women’s Chorus—are required to purchase a uniform concert dress from the company Stage Accents. Please order a long-sleeved “Geneva” style performance dress #8665.  Ordering information is below.   The cost of the dress is approximately $80 (dress + tax/shipping).  Note that the dresses run large.   Please allow 2 to 4 weeks for shipping and extra time for alterations if necessary. Men in instrumental and choral ensembles will wear black tuxedo with tails, white vest, white bow tie, black shoes and socks. Men must purchase tails and the rest of the concert dress on their own. 

Take a Stand
For many years, the equipment in the practice rooms at Eastman has included a music stand. Sometimes, when you are in a hurry to find a practice room, you may find the music stand has wandered to another location. We recommend that everyone bring with them a portable (foldable) music stand, one that you can carry in your backpack or instrument case so that you are ready to practice at any time, without the need to spend extra practice time searching for a music stand.

You can purchase a music stand at the Eastman School Bookstore. If you want to reserve a music stand for purchase when you arrive on campus, call Tammy in the Eastman Bookstore at 585.274.1399 or email the bookstore at bksrochestereastman@bncollege.com. You can “take a stand” and pay for it in the Miller Center building during regular store hours.

Lockers
If you are interested in requesting a locker for the 2017-2018 school year, please follow the link below and submit your form to Katie Curtis at the Eastman Welcome Center by 4:00 p.m. on Friday August 25th, 2017.

Requests received by 4:00pm on Friday August 25th, 2017 will be processed and assignments e-mailed before the first day of classes on Wednesday August 30th, 2017. Any requests received after 8/25 will be processed based on additional availability of lockers. Each student will only receive one locker assignment and harp, percussion, double bass, tuba, and euphonium players will not be assigned lockers as they are issued locked practice rooms. If you are a student with a disability or have mobility restrictions, and have concerns regarding access to a locker, please contact the Welcome Center directly.
