Circulation Assistants\u2019 work involves responsibility for routine circulation, shelf maintenance, and clerical functions, using an automated circulation system.<\/p>\n

Duties include\u2014<\/p>\n

  1. Charging books in and out<\/li>\n
  2. Shelving library materials<\/li>\n
  3. Shelf-reading<\/li>\n
  4. Shelf shifting<\/li>\n
  5. Answering Telephones<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

Queries range from simple inquires on how to use our online catalog to very detailed and involved reference questions. Other duties as assigned include reference stacks maintenance, catalog researching, computer work, etc.\u00a0 Typically the assistant is a graduate student who has taken MHS 480: Music Bibliography or the equivalent at another institution.<\/p>\n

    (a) Receive national and international requests for Sibley items; (b) Respond to Eastman requests for items not in Sibley. Written and spoken communication skills desired.<\/p>\n
