EROI 2010: Pedaling through Time

EROI 2010 LogoEROI 2010: Pedaling through Time
November 11-14, 2010

The ninth annual Eastman Rochester Organ Initiative (EROI) Festival, Pedaling through Time: New Perspectives on Pedal Technique, explored the art of playing the pedals from the seventeenth century to the present day. Designed especially for students and teachers, the festival offered new perspectives on pedal technique and provided wonderful opportunities for “feet-on” experience with important practice instruments, such as the pedal clavichord, pedal piano, and harmonium. Highlights included a keynote address by Cornell Professor David Yearsley and performances featuring David Higgs, Stephen Kennedy, and the Christ Church Schola Cantorum.
