Collaboration in the Short Term

Collaboration in the short term. SO just did a show with the Joshua Light Show and 5 guest musicians. We had to get it together quickly and that is a skill I didn’t realize I would use as often as I do.

Vlog 12 – Talking About What We Do

I just finished a phone interview for a podcast leading up to a festival I am a part of in London in May.  It made me realize how often I am called upon to talk about what I do to presenters, interviewers, audiences, etc.  It is important to figure out what you want to say about your art and how to say it.

Vlog 11- competition in music

I just judged my first competition and it has me thinking about the purpose of competition in music.  It is inevitable that it exists so we all need to figure out how we feel about it.

Vlog 10 – More Flexibilty

I have always thought of my career as fairly concise, with most of my activities funneled through my work with So Percussion.  But I am realizing more and more, that all careers in music these days require a flexibility to do many things well and piece together lots of interesting activities to make up the whole.
