Mark W. Wilson is co-founder and Managing Partner of Neworks, and the inventor of the Pre-Seed Workshop and other Neworks rapid-fire training programs. He is also the President of Initiatives Consulting. Mark started Initiatives Consulting in 1997 to help clients commercialize their most promising ideas. Initiatives has investigated technical feasibility, analyzed business viability, provided marketing support, and honed road show and senior management presentations that have turned dozens of raw concepts into new products and companies.
Prior to founding Initiatives, Mark worked in product design, process engineering, optical tooling, lean manufacturing, and automation. While at Baxter Healthcare and Bausch & Lomb, Mark served as a project and engineering manager for five new medical device and pharmaceutical platforms, which continue to generate more than $1 billion in annual sales.
Mark earned both a BS and an ME in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He enjoys lecturing periodically at universities and events. He served for five years as the University of Rochester’s first Entrepreneur in Residence, and is currently on the staff of the Simon Business School’s Center for Entrepreneurship.
Mark’s favorite pastimes are drumming, camping, cartooning, and especially sketching technical drawings that clarify the product ideas of scientific entrepreneurs.
