Amanda Sharpe

BIOGRAPHY
Amanda Sharpe serves as the Academic Affairs Administrator in the Office of Academic Affairs. In this capacity, she has a broad range of responsibilities in managing the academic life of the School.
Amanda supports maintenance of all faculty records (contracts, promotion/tenure reviews, academic leaves); provides statistics and reports for annual recruitment of students to faculty performance studios; and prepares accreditation reviews for the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM) and all program registrations with the New York State (NYS) Education Department. Additionally, she manages the individual studio lesson assignments for the Graduate Teaching Assistants (TAs) and the selection processes for the Graduate TA Prize and the Eisenhart Teaching Award.
Amanda joined the office in 2013 and was previously the Administrative Assistant. She worked in the Primary Care Clerkship at the School of Medicine and Dentistry before coming to Eastman. She has been employed at the University of Rochester since 2010. Prior to her employment with the University, Amanda spent 3 years as an archival assistant for internationally renowned metal sculptor Albert Paley.
Amanda has a Bachelor of Science degree in English Literature with a minor in History from the SUNY College at Brockport in Brockport, NY. Amanda also earned a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from the Margaret Warner Graduate School of Education and Human Development at the University of Rochester in 2013.
In her spare time, Amanda enjoys hand lettering, photography, traveling and volunteering. She participated in the Empire Statesmen Drum and Bugle Corps playing the mellophone in the horn line for several years. She marched in a presidential inaugural parade, competed in the World Music Competition in the Netherlands, and won the DCA World Championships with the group in 2004.
