Born in Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia, Tamari Gurevich Hill<\/strong> began her musical education with Rozalie Rozjok and made her orchestral debut with the Georgian State Symphony at age 11. In 1992, having graduated from Tbilisi State Conservatory with a Bachelors of Music degree, Ms. Gurevich arrived in the United States. She holds a Masters of Music degree from Indiana University, a Post-Master\u2019s Degree from the University of Notre Dame and a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree from the Eastman School of Music. She has studied with Nelita True, Alexander Toradze, Tengiz Amiradjibi and William Cerny.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1994 Ms. Gurevich placed second in the Beethoven International Piano Competition in Memphis, Tennessee. In 1997 she won Grand Prize and a Special Prize for Best Performance of Debussy at the 14th International Piano Competition in Oporto, Portugal. Ms. Gurevich maintains an active performance schedule and has appeared in solo recitals and with orchestras throughout the former Soviet Union, Germany, Portugal, Spain, Italy and the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ms. Gurevich created and served as the director of the Emil Gurevich\/Rozalie Rozjok National Piano Competition, which is held biennially in Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia. Tamari has been a jury member for numerous piano competitions both locally and nationally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ms. Gurevich has taught at the Eastman School of Music, Syracuse University, and Houghton College. Currently she is a member of the piano faculty at the Eastman Community Music School, where she was the recipient of the prestigious Jack L.
