Roberta Zalkind<\/a> has been the Associate Principal Violist of the Utah Symphony as well as the Viola Professor at the University of Utah since 1988.  An avid chamber musician and longtime member of the Grand Teton Music Festival viola section, Ms. Zalkind has often said: \u201cTeaching viola is my primary passion\u201d.   It\u2019s this enthusiasm and drive that makes her successful and sought-after as a viola teacher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ms. Zalkind incorporates traditional technique building methods into her teaching.  She believes it is her job as a teacher to help nurture her students and to help them develop, guiding her students to formulate their plans for musical advancement and growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many of Ms. Zalkind\u2019s students have won positions in some of the most prestigious orchestras.  In addition, her students have diverse musical careers, ranging from music educators to recording artist, and more.  Her students have also participated in prominent music festivals around the country. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ms. Zalkind teaches students age 8 and older.  She also teaches orchestral audition preparation and college audition preparation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
