Majoring and Minoring in Music Workshops

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

Learn what it takes to prepare for music school with the experts at Eastman!

The Eastman Community Music School and the Eastman School of Music are proud to present a series of FREE workshops for high school students interested in majoring or minoring in music during college. 

 

We invite you and your parents to join us online and learn the ins and outs of applying to music school and planning for a career in music with Eastman’s professional Admissions, Career Advising, and Financial Aid staff.

 

All three workshops will be scheduled for Tuesday evenings at 8:00 p.m.  Registration is required to receive a link for the online meeting. If you are unable to attend the meeting, we will provide a recording of the workshop to all of those who signed up to join us.

 

Workshop dates and  topics will include:

 

October 27, 2020; Applying and Auditioning – Learn what music schools look for in an application and how your academic work will factor into your application process. Also, discover how COVID-19 is impacting the audition process and how best to prepare recordings and virtual auditions. 

 

January 2021 – Date TBA; Careers & Programs in Music 

 

February 2021 – Date TBA; Financial Aid & Scholarships
