Kailan Fournier-Poteet

Kailan Fournier grew up in Toronto and enjoyed music from a young age. At 15 years old Kailan started playing clarinet in a local youth orchestra and knew immediately that she had found her community and developed a better sense of self in the confidence and joy it gave her to play music. Kailan went on to complete her Bachelors degree at The Glenn Gould School with Joaquin ValdepeƱas of the Toronto Symphony, a Graduate degree at McGill University with Todd Cope of the Montreal Symphony and is currently pursuing an Advanced Diploma in Performance at the Eastman School of Music with Michael Wayne. As a freelancer, Kailan has performed with professional orchestras such as the acclaimed Quebec chamber orchestra Les Violons du Roy, the Hamilton Philharmonic, and the Montreal Symphony. Kailan has attended summer programs such as The National Youth Orchestra of Canada, Scotia Festival and The Domaine Forget Music Academy
