Shannon Prescott

Shannon Prescott, a passionate music educator, strives to provide an inclusive, creative, and student-focused learning environment where students feel they can both freely experiment with their individual musicianship and make meaningful connections with their peers. Shannon graduated from the Eastman School of Music in the Spring of 2021 with a BA in Oboe performance and music education. She is currently student teaching in the Rochester area with a focus on elementary general music and choir. 

In 2017, Shannon won the Concert Artists International Virtuoso Competition and performed a solo at Carnegie Hall. In the Fall of 2020, Shannon commissioned Mark Scatterday’s arrangement of the “Poem y Danza,” oboe concerto with the Eastman Wind Orchestra. She has attended summer festivals including Imani Winds Chamber Music Festival, Philadelphia International Music Festival, Interlochen, and the Summer Music Institute. When not practicing oboe or teaching, Shannon enjoys baking, hiking, and playing with her cat.
