Max Greenberg

Max Greenberg is a graduate assistant in the jazz department here at Eastman and a recent transplant from Cincinnati, Ohio. Born and raised in the Queen City, Max received his Bachelor of Music in jazz piano performance from the College-Conservatory of Music and has played with numerous small ensembles, orchestras, and choirs in a wide swath of venues across the Midwest: including performances with the Cincinnati Contemporary Jazz Orchestra, Richmond Symphony Orchestra, and the Blue Wisp Big Band. He has had the pleasure of performing at various music festivals spanning from the Ilhabela Jazz Festival in São Paulo, Brazil to the Elmhurst Jazz Festival in Chicago and MidPoint Music Festival in Cincinnati.

At Eastman, Max currently teaches the Jazz Performance Workshop for non-majors, assists Professor Dariusz Terefenko’s jazz theory course, and is the audio production editor and script writer for the Jazz@Eastman radio show. Being passionate about music education, he has taught private and group piano lessons since high school and regularly encourages young area musicians as both a clinician and adjudicator. While continuing his studies here in Rochester, Max is keeping busy teaching and gigging around town and enjoying the vibrant art scene that the Flower City has to offer.
