Matthew Nedvin

Matthew Nedvin is music educator, performer, and burgeoning entrepreneur. Currently a senior at the Eastman School of Music, Matthew is pursuing a BM in Music Education with an emphasis in choral music. Matthew has taught privately as well as in group settings of all ages K-12, including volunteering in the ECMS Early Childhood program. He is currently serving as the 2018/19 President of Eastman’s NAfME chapter alongside fellow ECMS teacher and VP Jing Tian Ngiaw. Beyond his teaching and academic responsibilities, Matthew is starting an online business to help pre-service music educators obtain observation hours required for teacher certification.

In addition to teaching, Matthew has performed in a large variety of settings. In 2017, Matthew gave a series of recitals of American art song in Georgia shortly before attending the American Institute of Musical Studies (AIMS) in Graz, Austria, culminating in two performances in and around Graz. He has previously won competitions including the Song of the Seven Hills vocal competition and the Georgia Literary Men’s Solo competition. He also sings regularly with Rochester groups such as Voices, a professional chamber choir; the Eastman Chorale; various ad hoc ensembles for special projects; and numerous church choirs.

Matthew is passionate about music teaching and learning, and he is thankful for the opportunity to work alongside such talented and passionate educators.
