Brittney Burgess

Brittney Bryanna Burgess is a vibrant Lyric Soprano that hails from Queens, NY . She is a recent graduate from Nazareth College where she earned a Bachelors of Music in Music Education and Vocal Performance.

In Fall 2021, Brittney will be making her Kilbourn Hall debut in “Proving Up” by Missy Mazoli, playing the title role of Mrs.Johannes “Ma” Zegner. Brittney recently made her orchestral solo debut with Genesee Symphony Orchestra in Fall of 2020, performing Urlicht from Mahler’s Symphony No.2. Her first operatic debut was in the Nazareth College Opera production of The Old Maid and the Thief by Menotti, playing the title role of Laetitia. In October 2018 , Brittney was a First Prize Winner in the Fourth/Fifth Year Category at the Eastern Regional NATS Competition. Brittney has performed as vocal backup for Josh Groban’s Tours for the past 3 years throughout Upstate, NY. As a performer, Brittney has appeared in several performing venues such as, the Nazareth College Linehan Chapel and The Callahan Theatre, Kilbourn Hall, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and The Chautauqua Amphitheater.

Aside from performing, Brittney’s passion lies in teaching. Brittney has taught in public schools, summer programs, musical theatre classes, and private lessons. It’s important to her that she builds a connection with her students while exploring music. She is a versatile performer and teacher, incorporating different genres of music is one of her favorite parts of teaching. Brittney is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Vocal Performance and Literature at The Eastman School of Music, under the tutelage of Katherine Ciesinski.
