New Horizons Green Strings
Teacher: Cheryl Guth
Room: First Unitarian Church of Rochester
Tuition: $180 per semester
The New Horizons Green Strings is a program designed for adults who are either new to violin, viola, cello, or bass, or wish to brush up on their technical, musical, or ensemble skills. Sessions are in a class/lab format and address a variety of topics, including music-reading, rhythm skills, string technique, ensemble playing, and practice following a conductor. Participants are encouraged to share their questions, as well as their successes and struggles in practicing to each class meeting, as participants have much to learn from each other. Repertoire studied will consist of common tunes, ensemble arrangements, technical exercises, and rhythm-reading exercises.
Members of the New Horizons String Orchestra and Full Orchestra are welcome to register and perform alongside of Green Strings at no extra cost.”
This is a yearlong course divided into two semesters. Spring semester will be automatically re-registered unless written notification is received by December 1.
