Eastman Departmental Diversity Initiative (EDDI) Funding

The Eastman Departmental Diversity Initiative (EDDI), which engages Eastman School of Music faculty, students, and staff in addressing questions of diversity and inclusion, welcomed the following EDDI visitors in 2018-19:

  • Lydia Goehr – theorist 
  • Kristin Hocker and Bryan Gopaul – Eastman Equity, Inclusivity, and Diversity Learning Series
  • Billy Harper – jazz musician
  • Monica Ellis – bassoonist

The Eastman Departmental Diversity Initiative (EDDI) offers funding in support of diversity and inclusion activities within the school. For the 2020-21 academic year, your department is eligible to receive up to $1200 towards the expenses of a visit from a guest lecturer, presenter, or performer. A written follow-up summary from the department chair detailing how the department benefited from the EDDI visit, both musically and in terms of diversity and inclusion, will be requested.

Please note that due to the University restrictions for COVID-19, only current members of the Eastman/University of Rochester community are allowed on campus. Please plan accordingly when requesting support from EDDI.
