String Extravaganza

  • July 30-August 3/Monday–Friday, 9 a.m. – noon

Young string musicians, ages 7–13 (NYSSMA Level I-IV) with a minimum of one year of study, will explore the world of orchestral and chamber music in a fun and nurturing environment. Students will develop their musicianship by focusing on healthy playing techniques, creating a range of articulations/dynamics, performing in lessons and master classes, learning performance etiquette,and interacting with peers to create a finished musical product. The week will culminate with a concert and celebration.

Eastman Children’s Choir

A full week of singing and fun for students entering grades 3–8! All young singers are invited to join us for a week of learning group vocal technique, proper performance etiquette, great children’s choral literature, and for the opportunity to perform together in a concert for friends and family.

Young Performers Chamber Music Program

For intermediate and advanced violin, viola, cello, and bass players in grades 5-12 (NYSSMA Level V-VI). Daily chamber music coachings for trios, quartets, and quintets as well as daily string orchestra rehearsal. This week will help students develop chamber music skills and deepen knowledge of chamber and string orchestra literature in a nurturing environment, where players can strive for excellence in performing with appropriate support from faculty.
