Important Information for High School Students
The faculty, students, and administrative staff of the Eastman School of Music warmly invite you to join us this summer to enrich your musicianship and musical learning. As a high school student, you will be welcomed into an academic community that is deeply focused on the art of music and academic studies. As a young student, you will need to accept the responsibilities that are part of our community and realize that we all exhibit great respect for each other’s work. In order to provide the resources needed by all of our students (from middle school students to doctoral students), we have developed rules and regulations that assure each of us the best use of resources and the personal safety needed in an urban academic community. We respect your individuality as young adults, but we take our fiduciary responsibility quite seriously. Please carefully read the Rules and Regulations.
Some of the items concern students who are living in the Student Living Center; other items concern us all. The Medical Record form you must complete, and the section below regarding medical insurance, are part of meeting that need. We look forward to having you join us for an enriching experience that is healthy and safe.
Health Coverage for Eastman Community Music School Students in Summer Session
All students under age 18 must fill out the Medical Record form and must be covered by private health insurance. A nurse is available in the Student Living Center during the Summer Session at no charge. If you need to see a doctor, the University Health Service charges standard community rates. Consult your private health insurance policy regarding coverage.
