How to Register
Note: Currently matriculated Eastman students may register online for Collegiate Courses and Institutes (except Choral Institutes 1 and 2 and the Summer Conducting Institute) or directly through the Eastman Registrar’s office for all Summer Session Courses.
Deadlines

Choral Conducting Week I and Week II: No audition tape required. Appllications will be accepted through June 1 or until filled. Audition videos and registration forms for the Summer Conducting Institute (Orchestral) were due March 15, 2008. There is no application fee for Summer Conducting Institute. Applications for all other adults must be postmarked by June 1, 2008.
Audition tapes/CDs for high school programs: For Music Horizons, tapes/CDs will be reviewed within 48 hours of receipt, with a final deadline of April 15, 2008. For Jazz Studies, rolling acceptances begin March. Applications will be reviewed as space remains.

Applications from high school students for all other ECMS programs must be postmarked by April 15, 2008. Applications for Institutes and Collegiate Courses that are open to high school studentst will be accepted through postmark of June1.
All current high school students and all students under age 19 must also complete the Medical Record on page 19 and the Other Requirements on page 20.
Process
Begin by filling out the Registration Form and Financial Statement
. It is important that you list your home address in addition to your summer address on this form, if the two are not the same. Please also indicate the effective dates for the summer address.Carefully select your courses and fill in the correct numbers, titles, credits, and charges on the registration/financial form. Remember to check that you have selected the correct CRN for courses that offer either credit or noncredit options.
Please deduct any applicable loans, waivers, aid, or discounts from the Tuition total. Note the Alumni Discount of $100 on any Collegiate Course or Institute.
On-campus Housing:
For Music Horizons and/or Summer Jazz Studies, check the appropriate box in the housing section. Note that the housing cost is included in the CRN listed for housing and meals.
For adults and all other ECMS programs that offer housing, please fill in the dates and costs in the housing section of the registration form.
Full payment of tuition and housing (if applicable) must accompany your registration/ financial form, with the exception of programs requiring an audition tape. For these programs, the application fee (where specified) must be included with your form. After review of the audition material, detailed payment instructions, including any deposit requirements, will be sent with your acceptance letter.
If paying by check, students may submit one check for both tuition and housing. All checks should be made payable to the Eastman School of Music.
If you are charging your tuition to Visa, Master- Card, or Discover, fill out the appropriate portion of the Financial Statement, and include your charge account number, expiration date, printed name as it appears on the card, and your signature.
If using University of Rochester tuition benefits, complete the tuition waiver form available in the Benefits Office. Indicate on your Financial Statement that you have applied for this tuition waiver.
If using Music Education Department cooperating teacher tuition waivers, attach the original copy of the waiver verification to your Financial Statement.
Students not currently enrolled in an Eastman degree program should complete the Educational History section.

If you have questions about your payment, call the University of Rochester Bursar’s Office at 585-275-3931 or Eastman’s Bursar at 585-274-1238.Registrations will be processed in order of receipt beginning in March. You will receive notification via e-mail when your registration material has been processed. You also will be contacted if any information is missing that is required to complete the process.
Additional Instructions for High School Students and Students under the Age of 19
All high school students and all students under age 19 must also complete the Medical Record on page 19 and the Other Requirements on page 20, including the Scholarship Consideration Box.

Your application is not valid until signed and dated by you and your parent/guardian.
Be sure to follow all instructions and requirements listed on all forms and complete the checklist on the Other Requirements page.
