Scope and Content: This series of scrapbooks contains programs and newspaper clippings relating to musical performances in Vienna and Prague from 1916-1939. The scrapbooks were compiled very meticulously, with some effort even made to record performances in writing when a program is missing. It appears that the compiler intended to make a complete record of major musical events, especially opera and orchestral concerts, in these two cities. Some material from other locations is also present, including London and the United States. As a whole, the scrapbooks a remarkably good survey of major musical events in Vienna and Prague between the two world wars.
