Biography: Anna Walker Goss was a native of Rochester and a music student in the early years of Eastman School of Music. She served as organist at Lake Avenue Baptist Church, First Baptist Church, and First Unitarian Church in Rochester. She also accompanied silent films at the Piccadilly Theatre. She lived with her husband John E. Goss in Charlotte.
Provenance: The scrapbook was donated by Mrs. Robert J. Goss, daughter-in-law of Anna Walker Goss.
Scope and Content: The scrapbook provides an excellent overview of concert life in Rochester from the years 1912 to 1921.
Associations: Watanabe Special Collections owns several scrapbooks and collections related to local music history as well as a file of ephemera lated to local music since ca1850. Of particular connection is the D.G. Hastings scrapbooks. Within the Goss scrapbook there is a letter from Hastings to Fritz Kreisler and Kreisler's signed response. Apparently Goss was an acquaintance of Hastings.

Series Description: The series and collection consist of one scrapbook of items relating to local music history in Rochester from 1912-1921. The scrapbook was apparently never bound, but existed in loose pages. So far as is discernible, the pages are in their original order.
