Many resources available from Sibley’s web pages (including electronic reserves) are available off-campus only to currently enrolled students, faculty, and staff members. These resources include Oxford Music Online, Naxos Music Library, RILM, WorldCat, Music Index, etc. The library pays a subscription fee and agrees to licensing agreements that restrict access to University of Rochester computers. Off-campus use of these electronic resources for individuals other than students, faculty, and staff is restricted. However, any currently enrolled student, faculty, or staff member can access these materials away from campus in one of two ways. Everything is available through use of a valid UR NetID. When you try to access one of these resources from off-campus, your computer will be redirected first to a proxy server that will prompt you for a valid NetID. Once you enter that and your password, you will be allowed to access those resources as easily as if you were using a library computer.

If you experience difficulty accessing resources from off-campus, try installing VPN. Go to VPN Information for more information about VPN and to download the VPN client. Please note that VPN will not work if you use AOL as your Internet Service Provider, and you will not be able to access these electronic resources from off campus.
