ILLiad is an application that allows to place their inter-library loan requests electronically. Click here to link with the Sibley ILLiad page. The Interlibrary Loan/Microform Department provides access to the Sibley Library collections for non-Sibley patrons and obtains loans from other libraries for Sibley patrons. The Interlibrary Loan/Microform department also maintains the collections of microfilm, microcards, and microfiche held by the Sibley Library and makes these available through sale where appropriate. Borrowing Items Interlibrary borrowing services allow Sibley Library patrons access to the collections of most libraries in the country as well as some overseas libraries. Requests may be placed by anyone with borrowing privileges at the Sibley Library.
Sibley Music Library participates as a lending library. Both ALA forms and OCLC requests are accepted. Telephone requests are not accepted. The loan period is four weeks, subject to recall. Renewals may be requested. The Sibley Library does not loan items to individuals through Interlibrary Loan. Patrons wishing access to an item in our collection should place an interlibrary loan request through their public or university library. Individual's requests for photocopies and microforms that meet our policy guidelines will be filled, but the individual must sign a copyright compliance form and provide prepayment for these items. Please note that our policies do not permit any dissertations or theses to be loaned. If you are having difficulty obtaining access to an Eastman dissertation or thesis, please contact the library staff directly to inquire about options for purchasing a microform copy of the work or other options. Microfilms and microfiche of certain items are available for purchase from Sibley Microform Service. A quotation will be prepared for the filming of non-circulating, rare, and brittle books. To obtain a quotation and order form, please place an interlibrary loan request for the item. You will receive written quotation and specific order information from the interlibrary loan office.
Conditions: Reproduction of microforms for commercial purposes is prohibited. No more 10% of any microform not produced by the Library may be copied for the same user over any period of time. All copying requests must be in compliance with US copyright law. Express written permission of the Sibley Music Library is required for scholarly use. MICROFORM SERVICES FOR SIBLEY PATRONS Sibley Library patrons may request the following microform services through the Interlibrary Loan/Microform office:
The Interlibrary Loan/Microform Office maintains a catalogue of items available on microfilm and microfiche from the Sibley Library. This catalogue will be made available on-line soon. Inquiries about the microform holdings of the Sibley Library should be directed to the Interlibrary Loan/Microform Office. Items held by the University of Rochester Library System can be requested through the Circulation Desk. Requests for these items do not go through the Interlibrary Loan office. When will I get the item I've requested? Why is there often a fee for a loan, but sometimes not? Can I find out which libraries hold a particular item? Can I request items from Rush Rhees and other University of Rochester libraries? Requests for items held in the University of Rochester Library system should be submitted as "Intercampus Loan Requests," forms for which are available at the Circulation Desk. CONTACTING THE INTERLIBRARY LOAN/MICROFORM OFFICE The Interlibrary Loan/Microform office is located in room 220 in the Sibley Music Library.
