JooSoo Son

A native of Seoul, South Korea, JooSoo Son started piano lessons at age six, learning from her mother. She continued her piano studies with SunOk Ham and started playing the organ at age seventeen under the instruction of EunJoo Seo. She earned the Bachelor of Music degree in Organ from the Korean National University of Arts, where she studied with Ja-Kyung Oh and Jin Kim.
JooSoo studies organ with Hans Davidsson at the Eastman School of Music. She completed her Master of Music degree in 2006 and is now pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Organ Performance and Literature. She has traveled widely to music festivals and events in Germany, France, Switzerland, Andora, Spain, and Sweden, and is interested in Sacred Music, accompaniment, and the harpsichord, which she studies with Ulrika Davidsson. Having played in churches from the age of ten, JooSoo is presently organist of Greece United Methodist Church and the Korean Bethel Presbyterian Church. |
