Annie Laver

Annie Laver, a native of Woodstock, Connecticut, is pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree as a student of Hans Davidsson at the Eastman School of Music. She completed her bachelor's degree in international relations and music at Brown University, where she studied with Mark Steinbach. Upon graduation, she spent a year studying organ with Jacques van Oortmerssen at the Conservatory of Amsterdam while living in nearby Leiden. In 2003, she won first prize in the AGO/Quimby Competition for Young Organists sponsored by the Boston Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. She also recently won the Charlotte Hoyt Bagnall Scholarship Competition for Continuing Studies in Church Music. At Eastman, Annie enjoys teaching secondary organ lessons and handling logistics for the department's annual Eastman Rochester Organ Initiative Festivals. She has performed recitals in the United States as well as Sweden, Germany, and the Netherlands, and is presently director of music at the Church of St. Luke and St. Simon Cyrene (Episcopal) in downtown Rochester, New York. |
