Brett Judson graduated from the Crystal Cathedral High School for the performing arts in Garden Grove. He has studied with leading organists such as J. Christopher Pardini, Mark Thallander, David Goode, Wayne Foster, and Dr. William Porter, with whom he also studies improvisation. He has not only studied classical pipe organ, but also piano with Sean Groombridge, jazz piano with John Rosasco, and harpsichord with Ulrika Davidsson. Hundreds of church services have found Brett at the keyboards of places such as the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, The Cathedral of our Lady of the Angels, and the Central Assembly of God in Springfield, Missouri. Moreover, he has held positions at the Los Alamitos Training Base Chapel, First Presbyterian Church of Covina, Salem United Church of Christ in Rochester, and has served as accompanist for the Westminster Chorale.
Brett has won the American Guild of Organists Scholarship from the Long Beach chapter, the Roger Williams Piano award, and two Fred Swann Organ awards. In 2005, he won first place at the District level for piano performance in the Assemblies of God Fine Arts Competition. Creator magazine featured Brett in an article in 2005 for his commitment and achievements at an early age.
Known not only for his solo work, Brett has also accompanied six major plays at the Crystal Cathedral Academy/High School, sixteen shows at the Downstairs Cabaret Theatre in Rochester, and choral works such as Händel's "Messiah." He has conducted the Hour of Power orchestra and been featured on the Hour of Power numerous times at the Crystal Cathedral. Via this telecast, Brett has performed for more than 20 million people at the age of sixteen. He has served as one of the organists for the famed Glory of Christmas and Glory of Easter productions. The albums "Revelation" and "To Dream..." feature his performances. Brett is studying at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York as an undergraduate organ performance major. |
