Charles Cardinaux, from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, is a freshman at Eastman studying with Hans Davidsson. He began his organ study with John Mitchener, and received his high school diploma with a concentration in music from the North Carolina School of the Arts. While at the School of the Arts, Charlie was awarded the John Ehle, Jr. Scholarship and the General Studies Faculty Award. He has studied piano with Virginia Haisten, Margaret Mueller, Clifton Mathews, and currently studies with Vincent Lenti at Eastman. As an active member of the choir of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Winston-Salem, Charlie recieved the St. Nicholas Award from the Royal School of Church Music, and also served as a section leader, head chorister, and assistant organist under Margaret Mueller. Charlie was awarded one of four full-tuition Howard Hanson Scholarships at Eastman, and also recieved a National Merit Finalist Scholarship from the University of Rochester. |
