Lunch recital at Artisten

Our first recital on the French romantic instrument in the Artisten music building took place on Monday at noon. Four Eastman students performed works suitable for the instrument. Alexandra Fol played Maurice Duruflé's Prelude & Fugue on the name of ALAIN. Stephen Fraser performed a movement from the Symphonie Passion by Marcel Dupré, Le Monde dans l'attente de Sauveur. Daniel Aune performed Jehan Alain's Deuxiéme Fantasie and Eric Dombrowski closed the concert with Charles-Marie Widor's Allegro from Symphonie No. 6.

The organ hall at Artisten has been specially designed to maximize the acoustics of a relatively small room. Pictured here is the ceiling, walls and windows of the hall. Note the shapped panels on the wall and the recessed sections of the ceiling.
