Widor VI Masterclass

Four or five students this year are learning the first movement from Widor's 6th Symphony. Besides being a great piece, this work is a great specimen for study on the Cavaille-Coll style organ at Artisten. Two students took turns playing portions of the work and our three professors Davidsson, Higgs and Porter led a discussion and discovery of the characteristic French sounds of the Artisten organ.

Professor David Higgs conducts Mark Pacoe in his rendition of the Allegro by Widor.

Zach Hemenway, one of the students currently studying the piece, follows the discussion, score in hand.
