The Writing and Study Skills Center offers individual consultation and group workshops to help students improve their writing and study skills. Experienced writing tutors help students with writing concerns and writing assignments. A study skills counselor is available for help with academic concerns such as time management, exam preparation, motivation, and self-discipline.
The Center is open to all students of Eastman, graduate and undergraduate. Students may call the main phone number above to set up individual appointments. Students may also visit the Center in ESM 506 to sign up to see a writing tutor. In addition to writing and study skills help, the Center has music theory tutors available for individual consultation.
In the same location, international students will find the English as a Second Language Office and the International Services Office. The ESL Office offers English language assessment and information on Eastman ESL classes, the special summer ESL program, and Eastman requirements for non-native speakers. Information on the TOEFL and TOEFL test-taking strategies is available. A representative from the University of Rochester’s International Services Office is available for questions regarding visas and immigration.
