The Department of Technology and Media Production provides services, equipment, support and training for the computing, web, audio recording, video production, audio-visual, and distance learning needs of the Eastman community.

Computing Services assists students, faculty and staff in all aspects of desktop computer use. In addition to installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Macintosh and Windows platform systems, the department provides training and assistance for most common applications. Web Services provides the infrastructure, programming, training and content creation for Eastman’s institutional and departmental web pages.
The Department of Technology and Media Production records all degree recitals, major ensemble concerts, faculty recitals and selected guest artist performances, as well as providing recording services for audition/demonstration recordings and a limited number of Eastman-related commercial releases. Recording facilities include three control rooms with audio and video links to Eastman Theatre, Kilbourn Hall, Schmitt Recital Hall, Howard Hanson Hall, Room 120 and a number of additional rehearsal spaces in the Main Building and Annex. Please note that recording services are not provided for performances in Ciminelli Lounge. (Ciminelli has a “self-serve” cassette deck for taping recitals.) Additional services include sound reinforcement, audio editing, compact disc duplication, video production, video-conferencing (Internet2 and Polycom) and AV presentational and classroom support. Classroom and rehearsal spaces within the Eastman School of Music generally are equipped with audio and video playback for faculty use. However, requests for equipment use for non-faculty use can be accommodated with sufficient permission and lead-time.
