The Eastman School of Music’s vision to provide life-long service to Eastman students and alumni is now fully realized with the offices of Careers & Professional Development, Alumni Relations and Leadership Programs all under the umbrella of the Institute for Music Leadership. In short, once you are part of the Eastman community, your learning and support opportunities won't have to stop at graduation.

Leadership Programs

The Institute for Music Leadership also encompasses Eastman partnership activities and special programs that focus on music leadership. This includes the Catherine Filene Shouse Arts Leadership Program, the Orchestral Studies Diploma in Strings, and the Orchestra Musician Forum’s website, “Polyphonic.org” and activities relating to the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation and its grant to the Eastman School of Music. Other certificate and diploma programs are administered through the Office of Academic Affairs.

The Office of Alumni Relations provides a variety of services and benefits to current students and alumni, all of which help to keep connections strong.  On campus, Alumni Relations produces events like Eastman Weekend, inviting alumni, family, and friends to return to Rochester to reunite with one another and to interact with students and faculty.

Publications -- Eastman Notes magazine is published twice a year and sent to Eastman alumni, faculty, students, parents, and friends of the School. It includes stories about the accomplishments of Eastman alumni, faculty, and students, as well as recent events and historical retrospectives

Eastman Ambassadors --The Eastman Ambassadors are the official student representatives for the Eastman School of Music.  They are tour guides for visiting alumni, prospective students and parents, and special visitors.

They are called upon to assist with a variety of important Eastman functions, including Eastman Weekend, Audition Days, and Commencement.  At the request of the Dean, Ambassadors also staff and interact with visiting faculty and performers at receptions and gatherings.  Once selected, Ambassadors serve for the duration of their time at Eastman. Contact the Student Life Office for more information.
