The Howard Hanson Institute for American Music was founded by the distinguished Pulitzer Prize-winning American composer Howard Hanson, director of the Eastman School from 1924 to 1964. The IAM is committed to a program of commissioning, performing, publishing, and recording works by men and women born or resident in the Western Hemisphere.
