Indiana State University Conductors Institute

This five-day clinic features renowned conductors Keith Brion, conductor of the new Sousa Band and Colonel Timothy Foley, former conductor of The President’s own United States Marine Band. The host and Director of Bands at ISU is Dr. Roby G. George. Highlights of the symposium will include artistic baton techniques and strategies, advanced rehearsal techniques, chamber wind music and its importance to the wind repertoire, special topics on the music of Grainger, Sousa, and Hovhaness, score preparation, and programming modern wind band repertoire. Attendees will participate in daily conducting with a live ensemble in the morning hours and critical roundtable discussions and sessions during the afternoon hours. Evening hours will be devoted to special topics. This institute is a great way to enhance your professional development both on and off the podium while engaging in artistic, insightful, and experiential learning. Teachers and wind conductors of all levels are invited to attend. We hope to see you in Terre Haute in July.
