Atlanta Summer Conducting Institute

The Atlanta Summer Conducting Institute (ASCI) ?is a week-long series of seminars and masterclasses geared toward music educators, current and future students, church musicians, community choir directors and any other conductors looking to grow as artists and to reignite and intensify their passion for choral music. This five-day event will include daily conducting masterclasses and seminars in which participants will:

  • Build and refine beautiful and effective conducting gesture
  • Develop creative and efficient rehearsal techniques
  • Learn high-quality choral repertoire
  • Experience daily podium time with the ASCI choir (Note: all conductors and auditors are also encouraged to sing with the choir)
  • Participate in group voice classes led by tenor Rick Clement
  • Develop and practice methods for score study
  • Define and discuss the elements and methods of cultivating a healthy and beautiful singing tone
  • Build career-enhancing connections with peers, conductors, and singers
  • Enjoy a reading session and wonderful musical resources provided by Beethoven and Company geared toward church and high school choral programs.
