Reference Materials

In an ideal world, musicians would always promote their “product”– themselves – in person. However, more often than not, these first impressions are made through inanimate professional materials, such as biographies, press shots, resumes/curriculum vitas, recordings and cover letters. How do you represent yourself best on paper? What makes you unique? The Office of Careers and Professional Development publishes “how to” guides and has information packets that address the special needs of musicians. We also have many sample materials for your reference and offer individual counseling to help you put that perfect package together.
These handouts, which can also be picked up in the Office, are available here in PDF format:

We also maintain a significant Resource Library.
