Arts Leadership Program Certificate Requirements
Effective for students accepted into the ALP certificate program in Fall 2010 or after, the following are the requirements to complete the ALP certificate:
- 3 courses (one of which has to be a core course)
- an internship (2 credits)
- credits totaling 6 or more
- sign and comply with the requirements of the
ALP Pledge

ALP Certificate candidates are encouraged to take as many ALP courses as their schedule and time will permit.
*ALP Internship Requirements
Local internships during the school year require a commitment
for Fall & Spring, 1 credit per semester. In special cases,
a summer internship may be allowed (1 credit) and must be approved
by the Director, Institute for Music Leadership. Such internship
must be for a minimum of 120 hours. No more than 2 internship
credits can be used towards the 6 credit certificate requirement.
Additional information
Students enrolled in both the ALP and College and/or Community Teaching (CCT) certificate programs cannot count credits for the CCT required course, "MUE 504: Preparing Future Music Faculty," towards their ALP certificate. The ALP internship and the CCT internship must also be separate experiences.
